CAYOCA (CAtholic YOuth CAmp) for grades 3-8
CAYOCA is a summer camp program in the Diocese of Sioux City that allows children who have finished 3rd grade to finished 8th grade to experience our Catholic faith in nature.

The theme for this summer is Move It, from Acts 1:8, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be my witness in Jerusalem, throughout Judea and Samaria, yes, even to the ends of the earth.”  As in the past, the workshops and sessions at camp will center on this theme.

 The fees for camp are as follows: 

• All paper registration fees will be $220/camper.
• Online registrations * before April 1 will receive a discounted fee of $199. After April 1, the fee will be $220.
• Program assistants, adult group leaders, workshop presenters, and leader team are asked to pay $50 to help cover their cost of camp.  Parishes are encouraged to cover this expense.

*Important* If registering online please take a moment to fill out, and send back (by regular mail)   the following liability waiver form: 2009 CAYOCA Liability Waiver (pdf). The liability waiver is included with  the paper registration, but must be filled out separately if registering over the Internet.

 

WHAT TO BRING

Adult volunteers are a crucial part of CAYOCA.  Leader Team, small group leaders, camp medics (EMTs, nurses, doctors, etc.), and program assistants are needed.  Please contact the Youth Ministry Office to volunteer or share volunteer suggestions.

There are four camp sessions for the summer of 2009:

Totus Tuus for grades 1-12
Totus Tuus is a diocesan program that gathers college students and seminarians onto teams of four and sends them out to parishes to spread the GOOD NEWS of our LORD among children and youth. For grade school children the program consists in catechetical instruction, songs, games, daily Mass, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, lunch, recess and more. Totus Tuus balances strong catechetical content with having FUN!!!!

The high school program has catechetical instruction, a night of Adoration and Reconciliation, and a night of fellowship with the team. The goal of both programs is to help them to know the LORD and love him more deeply. Because of the youthfulness and energy of the teachers the children and youth have FUN as well!
