Youth & Young Adult Ministry

The Office of Youth & Young Adult Ministry seeks to assist those who minister in parishes by providing the following:

Leadership Formation and Training: This includes providing training for parish staff and leadership, coordinators of youth ministry, adult youth ministry team members and youth leaders.

Resources: This includes providing and identifying resources needed for parishes to implement effective youth ministry.

Consultation Services: This includes providing on-site assistance for parishes and clusters of parishes by helping parish teams to plan for and implement various aspects of youth ministry.

Network support: This includes building a network of support for youth ministry at a variety of levels: parish, deanery, and diocese.

Build Support: This includes a variety of tasks that help to build support for youth ministry.

Direct Ministry with Youth: This includes strategic gatherings of youth on a diocesan or deanery level to support the development of parish youth ministry.

“It is finished!” Not only are these the last words of Christ before he died on the Cross, but they are also true in regards to the NEW Diocesan Youth Ministry Handbook. However, just as Jesus continues to live after saying this, so will this handbook. As policies, procedures, and methods evolve in youth ministry, I will send out replacement pages. Because the handbook is in a binder, this will hopefully help the change of pages as necessary.
